What your money gets you
It is not just somewhere to put files.
Aside from the use of VisualIQ itself, you are helping to pay for everything that runs it: web servers, DNS, mass storage, backup systems, bandwidth, security appliances and the energy bill behind all of it. It is a lot of very expensive cogs to make this particular wheel spin.
And yes — you can go and buy a 4 TB pro-grade SATA drive for $450. Fine. Now double it, because a single copy of anything is not a backup. Add another thousand for a decent NAS to put them in. You are now some way past the price of a plan, you still cannot reach any of it from anywhere else, and you still have every one of the problems VisualIQ was built to solve: nobody can find anything, nobody knows who took it, and nobody else on your team can get to it at all.
That is why we exist.
Billing
How paying for it works.
When do you invoice?
Once a year, in advance, after your trial. We send an invoice and you pay it like any other supplier — no card on file, no automatic renewal charge landing unannounced.
What happens if we go over a plan's limits?
Storage and user limits are enforced when an upload starts rather than when it finishes, so nobody sends four gigabytes across a slow line only to be refused at the end of it. If you're consistently near a ceiling we'll tell you before the renewal, not after.
What if an invoice is late?
Your library keeps working, with a banner saying what's owed. Locking a customer out of their own photographs is a poor way to get an invoice paid.
Can we get our data out?
Yes, at any time and without asking. Originals are stored as originals — nothing is re-encoded on the way in — and an export gives you the files plus the metadata as a manifest.
Is there a discount for not-for-profits?
Ask. Tell us who you are and what you're doing with it, and we'll tell you what we can do.
Pick a plan when you've seen it working.
Register, set up your library and upload a batch. The invoice comes after you've decided it's worth having.
